Meet Shinya Sakurai

Join us for an exclusive tea ceremony with one of Japan’s most renowned tea masters, Shinya Sakurai – whom you may already be familiar with from our Masterclass series. This customised sensorial journey, in our Zurich café and store, presents a unique opportunity to discover a wide range of teas from all over Japan, as well as the different production methods that can transform the same leaf variety into an assortment of tea flavours. With only eight guests invited for each ceremony, you will intimately experience the delicate and meticulous preparation processes of the finest gyokuro, matcha, sencha and roasted tea during the 80-minute tea ceremony at AGOBAY. Japanese sweets will also be served during the event, and evening guests (from 7pm) will be invited to stay a little longer to end the day with some sake and light music in our café and bar.
