AKIKO KEN MADE
Japanese-Danish woodworking artistry
Discover the handcrafted wooden creations of Japanese-Danish cabinetmaker duo Akiko Kuwahata and Ken Winther. In their idyllic workshop in the north of Copenhagen, Denmark, they merge their cultural backgrounds, resulting in objects of striking precision in appearance and touch. “Beauty is both visible and invisible,” says Akiko. From a breadbasket made of two interlocking rings to an airtight tea caddy or a salt and pepper set crafted from dark walnut, the products of Akiko Ken Made, created with and for AGOBAY, feature clever twists and grow more beautiful over time: with each use, they acquire a unique patina.
